Easter Nails

Easter is here and seeing as the weather is horrible I thought i would create some fun nails that remind me of the sunshine that we really should be seeing this time of the year! :) 

I started off using this sky blue colour but really you could use any colour you want as long as it is a bright colour a green would look awesome too to remind you of the grass or even a yellow for the sunshine- rainbow nails would also look amazing just to really put a smile on your face when its raining outside 

I then used nail glue (used for fake nails and nail stickers, gems etc.) to stick these cute stickers on- I purchased them on www.amazon.co.uk (I will put the link below to them) you get a random selection of patterns and pictures but there is usually something in there for all occasions- they are cute and really easy to use.
I chose some butterfly's  flowers and while i was looking through them all I found some Easter Eggs which I thought would look really cool for the occasion (excited like a child) :)

After they had dried (which they do super quick- so careful if you get any on your fingers) I used some multi coloured glitter (topshop) and gave it a quick coat of the top to really make them sparkle :)

They are all set now- all you need now is the sunshine to come out :)

Birthday Nails

As it was my birthday last Saturday (16-03-2013) 

my sister took me and a friend out to have our nails done in Westfield Derby

I thought I would put the photos of them on because they look so beautiful 

They only cost £12 which I think is brilliant value for a manicure polish, pattern and nail gems

These cute nails are perfect for a romantic night out...or in with your loved one

Start off by painting the whole nail red (or any other colour) Preferably either pink or red :)

After that has dried use some 3D Nail art rods- which can be bought from amazon or any websites that sell nail accessories of any sort 

Cutting them very carefully in to thin strips and gluing them on to each nail with an average nail glue used to stick on fake nails 

After they are dry (which doesn't take long as it drys pretty much instantly) paint over them to add a bit of a funky edge- with glitter- I chose silver glitter because it stand out against the red- but you can use whichever one you like!!

Snowy Nails

With all the snow that we have had recently I thought I would do some frosty inspired nails

I haven't been able to take many pictures cause my camera broke after i took these and I couldn't get them off plus I have had a cold and lacked the concentration to paint nails

So however delayed these are here we go...

I started off with these ice blue nails painting all my nails completely then with a make-up sponge I dabbed the end of my nails with white nail varnish to give the effect of snow or frost- this part can be kind of messy and it tends to get on the sides of your fingers if your not really careful 

Then I used my Wah Nails- White nail art pen to draw snowflakes on each of them of varying sizes

I got the inspiration for these from these amazing photos of spiders webs that i took in the snow! I loved the intricate details of them! 

After they have dried you could even add a layer of silver glitter to make them sparkle or just leave them looking frosty.

My second design incorporates the snowflakes with some snowmen 

They are actually on my sisters nails because she has really long lovely nails! :) 

I started off giving all the nails a base coat as i thought it would work better than a colour as it is quite a complex design already. The clear nails just give it an extra shine!

Next I added some silver glitter to the ends of the nails to add a frosty effect to them- and if they have just been dipped in the snow! 

To add some detail to them i decided to alternate between snowflakes (like the previous set) 

And snowmen- where I used the White nail art pen to draw the snowmen bodies and then using various colour pens- black for the eyes, nose, smile and buttons 

and then a purple or a stand out colour for the hat and scarf

They looks so cute and will look great while you are building your own snowmen! :)

For this design you can choose any colours you like :)
I have experimented with two different colours but its really up to you!

 

 

First off you paint the whole nail the same colour- if you want to make them really fun you could paint them all different colours- whatever suits your mood!

 

 

 

Then all you have to do- taking a nail art pen (in this case white) to give it more of a french manicure feel- you just paint semi-circles- however big- or small you want them- to the tips of each of your nails

 

 

 

Now you just have to take a different coloured nail art pen (in my case black so that it stands out against the white) and paint a simple line across the colour and the tip (it tidys it up a little and hides if the painting of the tip was a little messy) and then do two triangles to create the bow!!

 

A really simple but cute nail art design that everyone can try out :)

Strawberry Nails

Nail art to make you feel fruity and cheer up on a cold January morning

Start off with some bright red nails- painted from top to bottom- reminds me of the colour of a red phone box. It will really give this design a base- if anyone wanted to give your nails a more fruit salad sort of feel then going for a paler red with a tint of pink could work too.

Next all you have to do is take a grass green colour and paint a semi circle at the top of the nail tip and then make them in to a zig zag pattern so they look like the stem off the strawberry if you leave enough space on the rest of the nail for the strawberry seeds

I didnt have the best version of gold to use for the seeds but something along these lines would look perfect- a bright yellow could work but i thought a sparkly gold would brighten them up a little more and look more authentic

New Year Nails

To celebrate New Year 2013 (and the world not ending!) thought I would design some fun and sparkly nails!

First of all paint three of the pairs of nails black for a dark plain background to start the patterns off
The other two could be painted silver and gold (as shown here) it isn't essential that they are painted these colours you can choose your own exciting colour!

Next I have chosen to paint some exploding firework outlines with a White 'models own Wah nails' nail art pen on the thumb and the fifth finger nails; which will be filled in within the next stage, on the second and the fourth nail I thought they needed some new year sparkle added to them so I added some funky glitter to them to make them stand out against the black of the other nails. Everyone loves a glass of bubbly on new years so the third finger nails HAD to have some champagne flutes painting again with the White 'models own Wah nails'.

Lastly I added some bright pinks and blues to the fireworks to make them pop and a little bit of glitter ( got to love the glitter :p ) the gold nail needed a little something else adding to it so I using a pink nail art pen to match the fireworks I added a cute '2013' signs in the corners :)
My little brother gave me a really cool idea to do clocks on the silver nails with the hands pointing towards midnight. And for the finishing touch i added some gold champagne to the flutes with some bubbles out of the top of the glasses! :)
